COVID Interventions Have Destroyed Our Kids’ Mental Health

Children’s Hospital Colorado has declared a “pediatric mental health state of emergency” due to the massive increase in demand for behavioral health services over the past four months, according to David Brumbaugh, the chief medical officer for the hospital.

This is a direct result of COVID-19-related stressors brought about by government policy.

Brumbaugh said he’s never seen anything like this in his 20 years of practice, according to a report from Colorado Public Radio (CPR). He remarked, “Our kids have run out of resilience. Their tank is empty. That’s where we are right now as a system and it’s impacting families across our metro area, across our state.”

CPR also spoke with Jenna Glover, who works in the Pediatric Mental Health Institute in the hospital system, who said, “Despite things getting better in terms of COVID, kids have dealt with chronic stress for the past year that has interrupted their development. Now kids are asked to be starting back into life again, they don’t have the resources to do that, they’re burnt out and they feel so behind they don’t know how to catch up.”

Youth behavioral health visits in emergency departments across the hospital system have increased more than 70 percent from 2019 numbers between January and April of 2021. April saw a 90% increase in behavioral health numbers over April of 2019.

Kids have seen their world turned upside down over something that did not exist for the overwhelming majority of them – an invisible Bogeyman who shut down their life right in the middle of their most important developmental years.

In Colorado, those 0-19 years old have seen .0009804% of the population die with COVID-19. 13-14 deaths total – which may very well have been due to serious comorbidities. The overwhelming majority of children do not even know they are sick – the only evidence that anything is wrong is that their school has been turned into a leper colony and they have been taught to see every person in their community as a potential source of death.

Next to the abuse of leaving seniors to die without their families in long-term care facilities, the damage done to the development of our children is the most horrifying consequence of the COVID-19 fiasco. We have only begun to see the true cost of what we have allowed the “experts” to do to the country.
