Arvada Taxpayers Funding Vaccine Discrimination

3 min read

The non-profit and ardently leftist Arvada Center is requiring proof of COVID-19 “vaccination” or a negative COVID-19 test in order to attend events – including the parents of children participating in youth music and theater programs.

Children participating in educational programs will be forced to be without their parents based solely on the private medical decisions of their families.

From the Arvada Center website:

All attendees must present proof of full vaccination status or a negative COVID test to attend indoor performances.

We can’t wait to see you for an upcoming performance at the Arvada Center! All attendees to our indoor seated performances – anything taking place inside a theatre – must present proof of full vaccination status or a negative COVID test. Here’s some need-to-know information about how to show your vaccine verification, get tested, and when to arrive for your performance.

All patrons, including children younger than 12, can alternatively provide a negative test for entry.

If you would prefer to miss your performance, you can contact the Arvada Center Box Office to discuss your options which include donating your tickets, transferring your purchase to a gift certificate for future use, or receiving a refund.

Vaccines are highly effective at lowering the risk of infection and preventing the worst outcomes from COVID-19. Because there remains some risk that even a vaccinated individual may experience a breakthrough infection, per the CDC guidance for our region, face masks are required for all patrons in order to best protect the health and safety of all cast, crew, and audience members.

From the Arvada Center website, emphasis added.

Effectively admitting that the vaccines don’t work, the facility nonetheless is requiring all patrons to submit or stay out.

While not owned or operated by the city of Arvada, between 30-40% of the Arvada Center’s total funding comes directly from the city. In 2020, the Arvada Center received nearly $4 million ($3,978,158) from Arvada taxpayers to fund leftist pet causes like anti-racism, Black Lives Matter, and social justice. The organization similarly received over $1.2 million from Colorado taxpayers through Scientific and Cultural Facilities District funding, placing the Arvada Center firmly in the category of a taxpayer-funded entity.

Yet not all taxpayers are treated equally. Arvada residents who have made the personal medical decision to not take a COVID-19 shot or submit to constant testing are not welcome at the facility that they pay for. This is despite the fact that the Arvada Center requires face masks for everyone – including children. Arvada residents may enter virtually every place of public accommodation in the city. Restaurants, stores, and entertainment venues have been unquestioningly opened to the public for months without restrictions, but non-competitive, taxpayer-funded institutions like schools, government buildings, and leftist non-profits like the Arvada Center continue to push illogical and hypocritical restrictions. Since these entities take their money (instead of earning it), they can medically discriminate with no consequences.

Citizens of Arvada should contact the mayor and the city council to get answers on why this kind of medical discrimination is allowed within an organization that is taxpayer-funded. Arvada residents should not be discriminated against with their own money.
