Colorado Dems Gearing Up to Make Killing the Unborn a “Fundamental Right”

Democrats in the Colorado House advanced the so-called “Reproductive Health Equity Act” on Thursday, which if passed would make Colorado the baby murder capitol of the country.

The bill would codify abortion at any time during pregnancy and for any reason as a fundamental right, and make Colorado the destination for women looking to kill their unborn children once it’s too late to do it in their home state. While pro-life advocates in Colorado have consistently attempted to use the Constitutional ballot measure process to directly appeal to Colorado citizens, Colorado Democrats have decided to strike against the unborn while they have control of the state government.

Majority Leader Daneya Esgar, D-Pueblo, admitted that the bill was being advanced to defend abortion in the state against the Supreme Court of the United States potentially striking down Rove vs. Wade, stating, “I wish we didn’t have to bring this bill forward,” before admitting (ironically through a face mask) that politicians should not be controlling personal medical decisions.

Over 13 hours of testimony was heard before the House Health and Insurance Committee voted 7-4 to allow the bill to come before the full State House. The Orwellian and gender-denying summary of the bill reads:

The bill declares that every individual has a fundamental right to use or refuse contraception; every pregnant individual has a fundamental right to continue the pregnancy and give birth or to have an abortion; and a fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus does not have independent or derivative rights under the laws of the state.

The bill prohibits state and local public entities from:

Denying, restricting, interfering with, or discriminating against an individual’s fundamental right to use or refuse contraception or to continue a pregnancy and give birth or to have an abortion in the regulation or provision of benefits, services, information, or facilities; and

Depriving, through prosecution, punishment, or other means, an individual of the individual’s right to act or refrain from acting during the individual’s own pregnancy based on the potential, actual, or perceived impact on the pregnancy, the pregnancy’s outcomes, or on the pregnant individual’s health.

Refusing to use the scientific term “woman” in favor of the scientifically absurd “pregnant individual,” Colorado Democrats displayed their abject denial of science, their disrespect for the citizenry, and that they will do anything to maintain the American Left’s sacrament of abortion.
