New Belgium Brews Fear Beer to Scare Us About Global Warming

Less than two years after selling its operation to an international conglomerate with ties to the Myanmar genocide, Fort Collins-based New Belgium brewery has brewed a purposefully disgusting beer to demonstrate the scariness of climate change.

Called “Torched Earth,” the brew reportedly “tastes like eating a Band-Aid,” and is intended not to please customers, but to teach them a lesson. The brewery’s corporate activism joins the likes of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and needlessly places the company in the middle of a divisive political issue.

From New Belgium’s ridiculous green activism page that claims it’s the “last call for the climate”:

To show what the future of beer could look like if climate change continues unchecked, we brewed up Torched Earth Ale. This beer uses the kind of ingredients that would be available in a climate-ravaged future including: smoke-tainted water, drought-resistant grains, shelf-stable extracts and dandelion weeds. While it’s technically beer, it’s not great.

The company will likely find that their leftist, choir preaching political stunt will cost them, as consumers have shown themselves to be fed up with being lectured by woke corporations and having politics injected into every corner of life. Even those who would be persuaded by such a virtue signal will continue to purchase the beer they like the best, and a sizable portion of the consumer base will write the brewery off completely.

Climate change activists routinely admit that “saving the climate” means the destruction of free-market capitalism, so a large, free-market company shilling for the destruction of the system that supports it should rightly be seen as hypocritical, disingenuous, and pathetic.

It will be a neck-and-neck contest finding out which is more disgusting – the brewery’s political virtue signaling or the beer itself.
