Jeffco Public Health Pushes Anti-Science Propaganda on Parents, Indicts Themselves

In response to an overwhelming volume of emails sent to Jefferson County Public Health Executive Director Dr. Dawn Comstock from Jeffco parents advocating for parental choice in medical decisions, Comstock’s office has replied to many parents with cut-and-paste responses that often don’t address the particular concerns of the parent. Such was the case with the email I sent, the response to which didn’t address the primary concerns of my email.

While we would like to appreciate the effort to respond to parents’ emails, in light of the total disconnection between what I wrote and the response I got back, I must assume that the purpose of these responses is not to actually respond, but to be able to publicly claim that parents’ concerns were addressed.

Many parents have shared the emails they have received, and while these responses are not identical to each other they share talking points and are without fail an attempt to reinforce the partisan, anti-scientific positions of JCPH and the prevailing liberal interests of the teachers union and the government-media-academic elite.

For instance, Comstock urged parents to seek out guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics:

I urge you to review the American Academy of Pediatricians school guidance document (https://services.aap.org/en/news-room/news-releases/aap/2021/american-academy-of-pediatrics-updates-recommendations-for-opening-schools-in-fall-2021/ ) which calls for masks to be worn indoors in schools this year for all ages and regardless of vaccination status.  This professional organization represents over 67,000 pediatricians here in the US.  As a parent, I am sure you trust that pediatricians would never recommend anything like this if there was any evidence that masks were harmful for children – these are the experts in child development and child health and safety.

The American Academy of Pediatrics is woefully compromised and clearly partisan, with its funding coming from a whos-who list of big pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer, having accepted millions from big pharmaceutical companies like Phizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, and Merck – although AAP claims this does not influence their positions or recommendations.

Comstock claims that AAP represents “experts in child development and child health and safety,” yet AAP is vocally supportive of every popular pet liberal cause – including the furthering single-payer health care, gun control and banning so-called “assault weapons, and support of the concept of “gender identity” apart from biological sex.

That’s right. This group full of supposed “experts in child development” takes the anti-scientific position that gender exists apart from biological sex, and that it may be appropriate to encourage a child to defy their biology and nurture their gender confusion – including potentially undergoing mutilating permanent surgeries. This group takes the ultra-radical ideological position that the biological reality of gender does not matter and that it can be changed by a person’s feelings. These doctors believe that the most medically fundamental attribute of their patients is dependent on the subjective feelings of the child, and their position is wildly unpopular with the general public.

In another response email to a parent, Dr. Comstock provided this laughable answer for why the flu disappeared in 2020:

Last year Colorado saw a dramatic decrease in not just influenza incidence but also cases of other respiratory illnesses (e.g., RSV).  It is not surprising that the viral mitigation efforts put in place for one contagious respiratory illness, COVID-19, including masking, social distancing, capacity limits, temporary closures of businesses or schools with high transmission rates, etc also mitigated transmission of other infectious respiratory illnesses.  The dramatic decrease of influenza and other respiratory illnesses is actually one of the strongest indications that those viral mitigation efforts put in place to attempt to reduce community transmission of COVID-19 were successful.  Simply stated, without those mitigation efforts this pandemic would very likely have been much worse – as unimaginable as that is.

She makes the laughably ridiculous case that masks, distancing, and lockdowns eradicated the influenza virus. She argues that somehow masks were helpful (but obviously not fully effective) in reducing COVID-19, but they wiped out the flu – a virus that gets millions sick and kills thousands every single year. Comstock apparently does not understand the implications of her position – she argues that apparently all health officials had to do was mandate public mitigations like masks and distancing and they could save hundreds of thousands of people every year. Yet they did no such thing and instead let people needlessly die from the flu year after year. Who will hold our health officials responsible for their failure to eradicate the flu when according to them the answer was so easily available?

Rather than the ridiculous theory that the masks that couldn’t stop COVID-19 instead totally irradiated influenza, it is much more likely that the financial incentives offered to financially strapped hospitals for each COVID-19 patient motivated them to declare those hospitalized with influenza to be COVID-19 patients instead. Since tests for COVID-19 merely discover traces of the coronavirus (and were discovered to be wildly prone to false positives), a patient admitted to hospital care and given a required COVID-19 test would often (if not always) test positive for COVID-19 and not be counted as a flu case.

Dr. Comstock’s emails also reflect the intention of public health bureaucrats to administer COVID-19 vaccines to small children – eventually by force. Continuing the farce of making no clear distinction between infections (those with the virus present in their system) and cases (those who become symptomatically ill enough to need treatment), Comstock pushes the easily disprovable idea that vaccines stop the actual physical spread of a virus instead of merely aiding the vaccinated individual. Rather than voicing a proper understanding that a vaccine aids the immune system of an infected person (who traditionally was not a case until developing the sickness) while not preventing the spread of the pathogen itself, she parrots the idea of so-called “breakthrough” cases – a novel way to refer to anyone (healthy or not) who still carries evidence of the virus even after receiving extra immune protection via vaccination.

These so-called health experts are bought and paid for. Their motivation is to tow the government-corporate-media-academia line and push leftist ideology through coercion and institutional control. None of what they are pushing passes even the most basic standard of scientific inquiry or plain logic, and they are far too deep into this alternate reality (and the power over you that comes with it) to ever turn back.
