Twitter is the Most Un-American Company in History

Ah, 2019. The year when we blissfully thought that Americans still valued freedom above the abstract concept of safety. Fast forward to late 2020 and not only have we accepted that allaying the minuscule risk of a new respiratory virus is worth giving up our fourth, fifth, tenth, and most of our first amendment rights, we are now dealing with a direct threat and abridgment of the rest of our first amendment rights in the form of big tech censorship.

Much has been said about the Trump-induced mania that brought about the fact-checking revolution of 2020, but it bears repeating that the constant warnings that accompany tweets with no-no words, unexplained suspensions, throttling of accounts not towing the party line, and downright full-scale direct censorship of information they believe you don’t have the right to know, Twitter has bested the Chinese Communist Party in its zeal to crack down on “misinformation,” which is really any opinion or presentation of information that goes against Twitter’s leftist ideology.

Twitter is suspending the official government accounts of politicians. Twitter has become the self-proclaimed arbiter of truth and morality. Twitter is censoring opinions (the main purpose of social media), claiming expression it doesn’t like “lacks context” (at best), and claiming undesirable speech violates its arbitrary and subjective terms of service.

Placing principled conservatives between and rock and a hard place, Twitter claims free-market protections as a private company, at the same time consistently violating the basic spirit of free speech. De-platforming free expression for a supposed “lack of context” or claiming contentious information and minority opinions merit unexplained censorship is the definition of un-American. It strikes at the very heart of what makes America. It is an affront and an offense to the very nature of a free society.

It’s no surprise that a company whose employees donated a whopping 98.99% of their political donations to Democrats would give more than a passing thought to engaging in censorship of conservative speech. After all, Democrats have consistently and repeatedly called Trump a Nazi – a characterization that provides moral justification for anything – no matter how evil – done in the name of defeating the president. Even shooting Republicans becomes morally acceptable – after all, if you could go back and shoot Hitler, wouldn’t you?

The list of times Twitter has knowingly and with prejudicial malice censored free speech is too long to list here, but it’s 20:1 against conservatives. Beyond that, there is an anti-American elitism at companies like Twitter that believes that they are so much better than regular Americans it justifies lying right to our faces. They primarily lie about being a free speech platform while engaging in secretive censorship policies and thought control (which is really what speech control is). Simply put, you don’t deserve to have equal access to free expression. Your dangerous thoughts and opinions need to be under the guardianship of your betters in Silicon Valley. They are smarter, more deserving, and just plain better than you are.

Twitter is an enemy of free speech. The company is a direct affront to the most fundamental founding right Americans rely upon, and Twitter’s contempt for ordinary Americans is something that must be dealt with – starting with removing their Section 230 protections against defamation lawsuits. If they are going to control the content on the platform, they are no longer a platform and they deserve to be held accountable for every libelous, slanderous, and plainly evil thing they allow while they are busy cracking down on politicians who dare go against the prevailing marxism of the day.

Yet even without this perfectly justifiable government action, hope remains. Users are fleeing Twitter in record numbers for places like Parler, and it is effective. You can tell by how many liberals are whining about it. Rather than celebrate the arena of ideas, these goose steppers are lamenting the loss of their monopoly on what is allowed to be said. Boo hoo.

Twitter needs to be destroyed like the enemy of America that it is.
